Maui Wedding Minister
- Our Maui Wedding Minister, John Souter
Great marriages are built upon a strong commitment. So you want a ceremony that will touch your hearts but which will also strengthen your commitment to each other. It should be worded to reflect your special feelings for each other.
- Rev. John Souter is the main officiant we use on Maui. He is a non-denominational minister that has been performing weddings for over 30 years.
-
- “John, we’re glad to have been the first couple you married. This June we celebrated our 34th anniversary! When it’s done right — it lasts forever.” Wayne & Debby Manzo
- John will take a personal interest in you. He’ll set you at ease before and during the ceremony. If you’re nervous, he’ll probably have you laughing. He talks to you from the heart and you will quickly see that he truly enjoys marrying our couples.
- John usually dresses informally in “aloha wear,” but he can also use a white robe if you prefer.
Choosing the Right Maui Wedding Ceremony
We have a lot of nice touches in our ceremonies. John almost always uses a great free-verse poem by Carl Sandburg that compares your relationship towards a budding rose. After the poem most couples exchange leis as part of their vows.
In written form our ceremonies appear longer than they really are. Each wedding takes only about 10-12 minutes. These ceremonies will be personalized just for you. John uses both of your names many times in a personal touch as he unites the two of you in marriage. You may make changes to your vows and/or his ceremonies, but because this does take a lot of extra time and preparation, there is a small fee for this service.
- If you prefer a civil service that focuses upon the love that has brought you together, we suggest John’s Contemporary Ceremony. Just click on the link to read it.
- If one or both of you have a church background and you want God to have a place in your ceremony, we suggest the Spiritual Ceremony. This is our most popular service. Just click on the link to read it.
- If you are Christians and you want the Lord as a big part of your wedding vows, we would suggest the Christian Ceremony which includes several Bible passages from a modern translation. Click the link to read it:
The more popular our website has become, the more difficult it becomes for us to assure you that John will be available for your special wedding day. That’s why we encourage you to call us and begin planning early so we can guarantee your wedding date. The following web page will answer your questions about making your wedding legal:
We do also use other Maui wedding ministers. If you would like to have a more ethnic looking officiant at your wedding just let me know and I can find one that is available.
